Our Regulatory Framework

The Body Composition Clinic is operated by Pharmelle Ltd, trading as The Body Composition Clinic. Our clinical services are delivered under the CQC registration of Renovar Ventures Ltd — our registered service provider. Here is what that means for you as a patient.

What is the CQC?

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care services in England. It monitors, inspects, and regulates services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety. Providers must register with the CQC to deliver regulated health and social care activities.

CQC registration means a service has been assessed against national standards covering safety, effectiveness, patient-centred care, responsiveness, and good governance. Registered providers are subject to ongoing inspection and must demonstrate continued compliance with these standards.

Our Registered Provider — Renovar Ventures Ltd

The clinical services delivered at The Body Composition Clinic operate under the CQC registration of Renovar Ventures Ltd. Renovar Ventures Ltd is registered with the CQC to carry out the following regulated activities:

  • Diagnostic and screening procedures
  • Surgical procedures
  • Treatment of disease, disorder or injury

These are the regulated activity categories that cover the clinical weight management services delivered at BCC. Renovar Ventures Ltd is responsible for ensuring that all clinical governance, patient safety processes, and complaints procedures meet CQC standards.

What This Means for You

As a patient at BCC, you are receiving care under a CQC-regulated clinical framework. This means:

  • The clinical governance standards that govern your care have been assessed against national regulatory requirements.
  • There is a Registered Manager in post, responsible for the day-to-day management of the regulated activities.

Raising a Concern with the CQC

If you have a concern about your care that has not been resolved through our internal complaints process, you have the right to contact the CQC directly. The CQC does not investigate individual complaints but uses information from patients to inform its regulatory decisions.

You can contact the CQC at cqc.org.uk, by telephone on 03000 616161, or by writing to: CQC National Correspondence, Citygate, Gallowgate, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4PA.
