Cookies Policy

  1. About this policy

This policy explains how The Body Composition Clinic (a trading name of Pharmelle Ltd) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, https://bodycompositionclinic.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

  1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work in a comparable way. In this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.

Cookies can be:

  • Session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser; or persistent cookies, which stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.
  • First-party cookies, set by our website; or third-party cookies, set by the external services we use (for example, our booking and payment providers).

  1. How we use cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. Our website does not currently use advertising cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics or other third-party analytics tracking. We do not use cookies to build marketing profiles of you.

The cookies on our site fall into the following categories.

Strictly necessary cookies

These are needed for the website and its core features to work. They cannot be switched off through our site, and they do not require your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Functional cookies

These help the website remember choices you make (such as preferences) to improve your experience. Our website may set limited functional cookies or use local storage for this purpose. They do not track you across other websites.

Analytics and advertising cookies

We do not currently use these. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before setting them.

  1. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by the external services embedded in our site — our booking system (Cliniko), payment processor (Stripe) and media intake forms (Cognito Forms). These providers set cookies that are necessary for their features to work securely. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy and cookie notices:

  • Cliniko — https://www.cliniko.com/policies/privacy/
  • Stripe — https://stripe.com/cookie-settings
  • Cognito Forms — https://www.cognitoforms.com/product/data-protection-privacy

  1. How to manage cookies

Because our site currently uses only strictly necessary and limited functional cookies, you do not need to take any action to use it safely. If you would still like to control or delete cookies, you can do so through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:

  • see what cookies are stored and delete them individually;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • block cookies from particular sites;
  • block all cookies; and
  • delete all cookies when you close your browser.

Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of our website — such as booking or payment — from working properly. Guidance for common browsers is available at https://www.aboutcookies.org.

  1. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add new features or services to our website.

  1. Contact us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, contact us at bookings@bodycompositionclinic.co.uk. For more about how we handle your personal data generally, see our Privacy Policy.
